Meribel

Meribel attracts a dedicated following of snowsports holidaymakers for some very good reasons. The main village itself is a busy and exciting place with plenty of fantastic accommodation, great restaurants and some legendary apres ski bars. Even with its party reputation it is a good resort for families and groups of any sort. Just above the main town you will find Mottaret, a purpose built higher resort offering a great base to maximise your ski time. Below the town you will find the enclaves of Meribel Village and Les Allues, both offering a more relaxed, village ambiance but retaining quick access to the slopes.

Transfer Times and Advice

Meribel transfer times (approximate times based on normal road conditions)

Geneva 2.5 hours
Lyon 2 hours 15 minutes
Grenoble 2 hours 15 minutes
Chambery 1.5 hours

Our Meribel transfer service operates from Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery airports. If you are travelling on a Saturday, particularly at high season, then be prepared for the bus to Meribel to take a little longer. The main road into the region supports access to many ski resorts so whilst Meribel maybe the final destination the combined volume of traffic from all the resorts can be very significant. Transfers from Geneva to Meribel pass through Moutiers, where the local authorities use traffic lights to ‘pulse’ the traffic as it leaves the motorway to enter the Tarentaise valley. All airport transfers from Geneva to Meribel use this motorway, so expect some delays here at the weekends. For all Meribel transfers departing resort, we would recommend leaving resort as early as possible. Passing through Moutiers before the majority of holidaymakers is advisable, even if you end up with a little extra time at the airport.
